Managing My Wealth

1. Stop giving money so much power in your life.
   1.  1. Timothy 6:9-10
      1. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil…

2. Avoid money traps (Money promises freedom, peace & security)
   1. More Money = Happiness
      1. Ecclesiastes 5:10-11
         1. Those who love money will never have enough.  How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness!  The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it.  So what is the advantage of wealth - except perhaps to watch it run through your fingers!

2. More Money = Prestige / Status
   1. Luke 12:15
      1. Beware! Don't always be wishing for what you don't have.  For real life and real living are not related to how rich we are.

3. More Money = Security
   1. Proverbs 23:5
      1. Wealth can vanish in the wink of an eye.  It can seem to grow wings and fly away like an eagle.

Love people, use things not love things, use people.

People change, things don't; we get bored.

3. Learn that trust is a must in relationship with God.
   1. Proverbs 3:5-6
      1. Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don't depend on your own understanding.  Remember the Lord in all you do, and He will give your success.

2. Proverbs 16:20
   1. Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord.

3. Matthew 6:21
   1. Your heart will be where your treasure is.

4. Get a grip on God's blessings in your Life  (Put God First!)
   1. Proverbs 3:9-10
      1. Honor the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income, and He will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest wines.

2. Genesis 3:6
   1. The woman saw how beautiful the tree was and how good its fruit would be to eat, and she thought how wonderful it would be to become wise.  So she took some of the fruit and ate it.  Then she gave some to her husband, and he also ate it.

3. Malachi 3:10
   1. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple.  If you do, "says the Lord Almighty, I will open the windows of heaven for you.  I will pure out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in!  Let me prove it to you!
      1. Money is the acid test of spiritual maturity.

4.  1 Corinthians 15:20
   1. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

5. If you want God in an area of your life put God first in that area.
   1. Such as:
      1. Relationships
      2. Your Finances
      3. Work
